Privacy Policy

Quilt Block Atlas has no accounts, comments, newsletter or contact backend, and shows no ads. This site uses Google Analytics for pseudonymous interaction data, as described below. 3 optional reading settings stay in your browser; the exact keys and their lifetimes are listed here.

What your browser stores

3 keys, written when you change an Appearance control and read back to restore it. None of these keys identify you, and none are sent anywhere.

qba-theme: Colour theme · localStorage · Across visits, until you clear it
qba-textsize: Text size · sessionStorage · Until this tab closes
qba-motion: Animation · sessionStorage · Until this tab closes

What this site collects

There is no account to create, comment box, newsletter or contact form, so this site does not ask for your name or a profile. Every page is a pre-built file, and every calculator runs on your own device: a size you type into a chart is computed in your browser and never transmitted.

This site uses Google Analytics. Google Analytics receives pseudonymous interaction data: pages and views, interactions, session and traffic-source context, browser language and type, device category, and operating system. Google may derive rough geographic reporting; this site does not collect precise location.

In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, analytics consent defaults to denied; Google tags can still send cookieless pings there; elsewhere analytics consent defaults to granted. If the site-owned consent banner is enabled, its choice applies before optional storage is used. You can opt out of Google's advertising cookies at Google's Ads Settings.

When analytics storage is granted, Google Analytics may set a first-party _ga cookie and use its pseudonymous client identifier to distinguish a browser across visits.

Clearing your saved settings

The ledger above lists every reading preference this site stores in your browser. Clearing your browser data removes the reading preferences listed above and any _ga cookie Google Analytics set when storage was granted. No article, chart or calculator answer depends on a saved preference; these keys only change how the page is presented.

If this site ever shows ads

This site does not currently show advertising. If it does in future, through Google AdSense, the following applies — stated here in advance, as Google requires:

"Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to your website or other websites."

"Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to your users based on their visit to your sites and/or other sites on the Internet."

"Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Ads Settings."

You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time at Google's Ads Settings, whether or not this site currently runs AdSense.

When you email

There is no contact backend. A message to support@quiltblockatlas.com goes to an ordinary mailbox, is read to answer you and to correct the page you wrote about, and is not added to any list. Questions about this policy go to the same address.
